Basically, there are a lot of dudes (because it's mainly dudes, but not exclusively so) stomping around town keeping everyone safe. They're very friendly, but they're also there to do their job, so if they feel threatened, they'll take down whoever is putting the town at risk. So--extra protection--check. Also, they've instated a curfew. However, it's optional.
It's more for locals than anything. And by that, I mean humans. It's like 'Hey, if you're bothered by fanged heathens who're out to eat you, stay inside where they can't get you.'
Feel free to take as many liberties as you'd like. :)
